The quantum basket bounced hard with the risk-on tape — Infleqtion led an oversold rally — while D-Wave broke from the group and fell double digits into its Q2 print.

After a month in which the pure-play quantum names shed roughly 30%, Monday's broad melt-up — Nasdaq +2.3%, S&P 500 +1.6% — handed the sector an oversold bounce, and Infleqtion led it, up +11.7% to $10.98. The move was mechanical relief rather than fresh news: INFQ is still down about 48% year-to-date and trading near a 52-week low, but its neutral-atom sensing-and-computing franchise (and its standing as an NVIDIA partner) makes it a high-beta way to play any turn in sentiment. The chokepoint this vertical maps — the enabling hardware stack of lasers, cryogenics, control electronics, and ultra-high-vacuum that every qubit modality depends on — did not re-rate on Monday so much as unwind a week of forced selling.

The laggard bucked the group entirely: D-Wave fell −10.3% to $16.21 while every other tracked name rose. The visible context is a fading of the AT&T network-operations deal rally that had lifted QBTS in late July, now giving back into a Q2 print for which options are pricing a roughly 13.5% swing; we did not find a confirmed company-specific catalyst for Monday's decline, so we flag it as the pure-play de-rate landing hardest on the name that had run furthest. It is the sharpest reminder that this basket is momentum, not fundamentals — the same tape that lifted the group 8-12% dropped one member double digits.

Everything else in the complex moved with the leader. Quantinuum rose +8.2% to $55.65, Quantum Computing Inc +7.9% to $8.74, Arqit +7.7% to $18.45, IonQ +6.6% to $38.85, and Rigetti +7.2% to $16.02 — the full spread of superconducting, trapped-ion, and photonic bets bid together, which is how correlated this basket trades on risk-on days. The enabling-layer names were firmer-handed: Coherent +9.6% to $288.14 on the AI-optics read-through, Applied Materials +2.1% to $518.21, and Alphabet +4.9% to $373.51 carrying the deep-pocketed-incumbent side of the chokepoint.

The calendar gets concrete immediately. GlobalFoundries reports Q2 on August 4, the first print with its quantum-relevant specialty franchise in focus. ASP Isotopes reports August 12-14 with Renergen helium production the tell on the isotope-supply chokepoint, and IonQ reports Q2 on August 12 — the sector's most-watched result and, given the vol D-Wave is carrying, the swing catalyst for the whole group. Coherent's fiscal Q4 lands August 13 and Keysight's fiscal Q3 on August 18, both reads on the test-and-measurement layer beneath the qubit.
