A risk-on chip rebound lifted the entire quantum desk, with neutral-atom name Infleqtion up 6.0% and no laggard falling more than a percent ahead of NVIDIA's print.
Tuesday was a broad rebound — the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.7% as chip stocks recovered and Treasury yields eased into NVIDIA's Wednesday earnings — and the quantum desk was uniformly green. The leader was Infleqtion (INFQ), up 6.0% to $13.83. The neutral-atom quantum-hardware and sensing company has traded on the NYSE only since February, when it merged with Churchill Capital Corp X for more than $550 million in gross proceeds; it counts NVIDIA among its partners and builds cold-atom qubit systems alongside optical clocks and inertial sensors. No single-name catalyst drove Tuesday's move — it was part of a sector-wide bid — but the name sits in the ultra-high-vacuum and cold-atom systems chokepoint, the enabling hardware layer that neutral-atom architectures cannot scale without.
There was barely a laggard to speak of. The desk's weakest quotable line was Applied Materials, down just 0.9% to $480.04 — a shallow give-back in the deposition-and-etch equipment layer on a day when nearly everything else rose, with no negative catalyst behind it. That the largest decliner fell less than a percent is the session's real signal: this was a risk-on day with no dispersion, and the semiconductor-capital-equipment strait held.
The move was broad across the computing names and the photonics that feed them. D-Wave rose 3.6% to $19.35, Rigetti 3.5% to $16.94, Quantinuum 3.5% to $53.89, Quantum Computing 2.7% to $8.46, and IonQ 2.4% to $42.05, while American Superconductor added 2.5% to $29.65. In the enabling layers, Coherent gained 4.6% to $288.14 and Keysight 3.0% to $320.12 in the photonics-and-test strait; AMD rose 4.9% to $479.18 and NVIDIA 2.2% to $213.05 as the chip complex rebounded. Silex Systems' ADR climbed 5.6% to $20.83, the laser-isotope-separation name that also anchors the silicon-28 supply story for spin-qubit substrates. The session lifted the qubit builders and the vacuum-laser-photonics supply chain beneath them in lockstep.
The calendar ahead is thin near-term but sharpens into the fall. NVIDIA's fiscal Q2 lands after Wednesday's close, the reference print for the AI-compute complex quantum names trade alongside. IEEE Quantum Week (QCE26) convenes in Toronto September 13–18. ASP Isotopes has guided its first commercial silicon-28 shipments to the third quarter — the isotopically pure substrate that gates high-fidelity spin qubits. On the policy side, the National Quantum Initiative Reauthorization Act (H.R. 8462 / S. 3597) awaits floor votes, and DARPA's Quantum Benchmarking Initiative concludes its Stage B and opens the Stage C downselect window in early November — the hard test of which platforms clear the bar.
