A low-float pop in Arqit led the platforms while Silex gave back on the enrichment-materials chokepoint.

Arqit Quantum (ARQQ) topped the basket, up 8.7% to $20.54, with no company-specific catalyst to anchor the move — the read is a low-float name churning ahead of two dated events rather than fresh news. Arqit's Nasdaq public warrants (ARQQW) are set to stop trading September 2 and expire September 3, and its annual meeting falls September 8; against a thin share count, that housekeeping is enough to move the common. Arqit sits on the platform pure-play chokepoint as a quantum-safe cryptography vendor, the part of the stack most exposed to sentiment and least to hardware economics, so it tends to lead on days when the flow, not the fundamentals, is doing the work.

The decliner was structural rather than sentimental. Silex Systems' ADR (SILXY) fell 5.4% to $17.39, the worst in the basket, a pullback in a name that has run on the laser-enrichment story with no adverse headline attached. Silex holds 51% of Global Laser Enrichment alongside Cameco, and its SILEX process — third-generation laser separation of isotopes — is the enrichment-and-isotopes chokepoint this vertical maps, the same technology that produces the silicon-28 substrate quantum fabs want. After a strong run built on GLE's Paducah program and its DOE tails re-enrichment rights, a 5% give-back reads as profit-taking, not a change in the thesis.

The rest of the tape favored the enabling-hardware and materials layer. Bruker (BRKR) rose 5.3% to $59.02 on the isotopes-and-quantum-materials chokepoint, VAT Group's ADR (VACNY) +4.7% to $74.73 on ultra-high-vacuum systems, and ASP Isotopes (ASPI) +4.0% to $3.93 — the enriched-isotope supplier — with MKS Inc. (MKSI) +2.0% to $251.38. Nvidia (NVDA) firmed 3.2% to $224.41 alongside the broader up tape. The soft side was shallow: Honeywell (HON) −1.9% to $206.07 and Sumitomo Heavy's ADR (SOHVY) −1.8%.

The near-term calendar is the story now. IEEE Quantum Week (QCE26) runs in Toronto September 13–18, the field's largest technical gathering and a reliable source of roadmap and error-correction news. ASP Isotopes has guided its first commercial silicon-28 shipments for the third quarter — the isotope-substrate milestone that would move the materials chokepoint from promise to revenue. In Washington, the National Quantum Initiative Reauthorization Act (H.R. 8462) is awaiting House floor action, the policy backdrop for federal funding. And Arqit's own annual meeting on September 8, just after its warrants expire, closes out the corporate housekeeping that drove today's move.
