IonQ jumped on a real-time error-correction breakthrough and an NVIDIA deployment while the enabling-hardware rung held up against a broad tech selloff.

IonQ (IONQ) led the vertical, up 4.4% to $42.54, on two hard catalysts. The company unveiled an end-to-end real-time quantum-error-correction decoder that runs on a single standard CPU — verified across circuits simulating up to 408 logical qubits and more than 31.5 million operations — removing the classical-decoding delays that force qubit hardware to pause mid-computation. Separately, IonQ said its Superion 256 will be the first on-premise quantum system at NVIDIA's Accelerated Quantum Research Center, linked to a GB200 NVL72 rack via NVQLink; B. Riley and Jefferies reiterated bullish views, with targets up to $100. Error correction is the fidelity chokepoint that gates useful computation, so a decoder that keeps pace in real time is precisely the constraint the thesis watches.

ASP Isotopes (ASPI) was the laggard, down 5.3% to $3.01, with no fresh operational news — the move reads as continued pressure from its recent dilution, having agreed to exchange roughly $109.2M of Quantum Leap Energy convertible notes for about 23.2 million new ASPI shares. ASP straddles the isotopes-and-cryogens chokepoints the vertical maps, and its guided first commercial silicon-28 shipments this quarter would supply the isotopically pure substrate that gates spin-qubit fidelity — but a development-stage balance sheet leaves the equity sensitive to every financing step.

The rest of the board split between a resilient supply chain and softer pure-plays. The enabling-hardware and metrology rung largely held against the broad tech selloff: FormFactor (FORM) +4.2% to $131.26 on its cryogenic wafer-prober and probe-card franchise, Keysight (KEYS) +1.7% to $353.36, and MKS (MKSI) +0.9%. The listed qubit names were mixed-to-lower — Rigetti (RGTI) −3.1% to $16.00, D-Wave (QBTS) −4.3% to $16.81, Quantum Computing (QUBT) +0.4% — while the photonics rung gave back gains with Coherent (COHR) −3.2% to $300.60. The macro anchors leaned negative on a second day of AI-led selling: NVIDIA (NVDA) −1.5% to $225.51, AMD −1.5%, and Alphabet (GOOGL) −3.8% into its earnings window.

The catalysts ahead are legislative and program-driven. The National Quantum Initiative Reauthorization Act (H.R. 8462 / S. 3597) still awaits floor action, the funding backbone for the field. ASP Isotopes' first commercial silicon-28 shipments are guided for this quarter — the substrate read the whole spin-qubit rung is waiting on. DARPA's Quantum Benchmarking Initiative concludes Stage B and moves to a Stage C downselect in the Nov 6 window, and Q2B26 Chicago (Dec 8–10) is the next industry marker. Each is a demand or validation signal for the enabling-hardware layer that outperformed today, even as the pure-plays wobbled.
